Don’t miss the Healing…

What to do when an emotional wound resurfaces?

Are you going to ignore it and show it back down again or are you going to go through the healing that God has ready for you?

Your choice?

You are not alone.

Connect with Divine wisdom, God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit

Ask for their help and the support of others

Take the necessary action to get your healing

Well, guess what?

An emotional wound has re-surfaced, and it is a very, very deep wound.

I will go into detail about this specific wound later in another post on Rejection and Abandonment.

This post will deal with how to recognize and deal with woundings that resurface.

Stay tuned…for the specific message of hope and healing just for me and for you… if you are willing to go on this spiritual growth path with me.

Why is this happening to me again? Revisiting a past wound.

This quote tells me that when an emotional wound resurfaces, that means it is a time for healing.

Oh, Great, not again…Down the path of Healing

That sounds “peachy keen” however from past experiences, I know this path is not always easy. I will have to feel the loss and pain and walk through the losses and pain to get to the blockages or stuffed emotions that are preventing me from receiving the healing God wants me to experience.

It is like a pressure cooker, the release valve needs to be open to release stuffed emotions.

Sometimes, I am given insight into what is causing the stuffed emotions and sometimes I am not given a clue.

I am to learn the spiritual lessons I am made aware of.

If no awareness is given to me then I am to

Turn it over to God and

Let it Go.

The spiritual lesson could be to just turn it over to God and to Let Go of it and trust God, i.e. building my trust and faith in God.

The spiritual lesson could also be to release another round of stored emotions that are in my body causing dis ease.

Taking action to become aware of my behavior to stuff feelings and to practice expressing them instead of stuffing them

I choose not to medicate or meditate or deny the pain away.

I choose to validate it and work through the pain to allow God to heal me.

Why can’t it be easier for me to heal?

This quote asked you to stick your hands inside and pull out the core of your pain. I would suggest that you make sure God’s hands are with you when you are pulling out the pain.

As Christians sometimes we were taught that divine healing needs to be instantaneous (miracles). Most of the time I have experienced divine healings in the form of spiritual lessons. I learn more from lessons. It develops discernment and wisdom to avoid making the same mistakes.

Just like on the Camino, I have to get up and start the journey, stay present and observe what enters my mind, emotions, spirit and my space and learn what I am to learn and then of course, take action and practice new healthy behaviors, if deemed necessary.

How do I know an emotional wound is resurfacing?

It starts with an imbalance in my spirit.

If I fight it, it intensifies.

Be Present and allow the process to proceed.

Acceptance is the key

I have learned to accept the imbalance and be open and willing to go through the process, whatever that might be.

Pray and seek the Awareness of what the pain wants to teach me.

As soon as I learn the lesson, healing occurs, and the pain subsides.

So I guess I am learning that pain is a good thing.

Pain points out what is wrong, so we can work on fixing it.

God will keep providing opportunities to heal.

If we do not learn the lesson the first time, we will get the same lesson over and over again until we choose healing. We need to go to source of the wound or the trauma and deal with it instead of treating the symptoms… Wow what a revelation…

What Is Trauma?

Trauma is a person’s emotional response to a distressing experience. Few people can go through life without encountering some kind of trauma. Unlike ordinary hardships, traumatic events tend to be sudden and unpredictable, involve a serious threat to life—like bodily injury or death—and feel beyond a person’s control. Most important, events are traumatic to the degree that they undermine a person’s sense of safety in the world and create a sense that catastrophe could strike at any time. Parental loss in childhood, auto accidents, physical violence, sexual assault, military combat experiences, the unexpected loss of a loved one are commonly traumatic events.

Psychology today’s definition

I pray that you all have a desire to tap into the “warrior spirit” within you.   The warrior part of you that encourages and defends who you are, a beautiful son or daughter of God.

Many of us have allowed others to take advantage of us or control us to the point that are life was no longer our journey.  We were tagging along in someone else’s life.   “To live someone else’s life and dreams” and do and be what “someone else wants us to be”, is very harmful to our recovery and to our growth.

I was being controlled and manipulated and did not know how to stand up for myself.  In early recovery, someone introduced me to the warrior part of me.  That part of me was the courageous part of me that helped me stand up against those who wanted to control me or take me out of balance.  To me the warrior represents courage to be me.

Now when I know God’s Will, the Warrior part of me helps me carry out what I am supposed to learn and do in my recovery.

It takes courage to follow through on changing negative behaviors into positive behaviors.

Keep persevering and fake the courage until it becomes real.  Make it an adventure.  Look forward to new lessons.  Keep an attitude of gratitude and thank God and others for their part in your recovery.

Are you going to let the wounds and traumas in your life destroy you?

With God’s help, and courage to follow through,

our wounds and traumas can be healed and transformed.

Healing opportunities start with triggers.

Be grateful for the triggers

Triggers open the door for healings

What causes triggers?

Reading something or words said or actions of others or divine intervention

It could be intentional or unintentional pain inflicted by others

Shutting down your feelings or stuffing your feelings effect our physical bodies, our emotional stability and our mental health

Learning to identify feelings and express feelings appropriately take practice

Learning to take our thoughts captive with a critical eye instead of a judgmental eye before we speak or take action is very important.

You have heard the statement, “My mind has a mind of its own”. Disciplining our mind and thoughts is very important

Negative thinking starts

Critical statements from the past start to enter my thinking, like

“not again”

“what is wrong with me?”

“just receive the healing”

“Let it Go”

This quote advises us that we have the power to stop these thoughts and not give them power.

Many times we have friends, counselors and family that make critical statements.

Are we going to give their negative statements power to wound our spirits?

Accept the healing journey

If you choose to go on this journey when it pops up in your life, pay attention and learn, so you are prepared

You can block the healing if you want to.

Your choice?

I am ready, willing and open to receive the healing from God?

You do not have to be wounded again to learn spiritual lessons.

Yes there are scars that remain from our wounds

Those of you that have physical scars know that if you physical touch that scar, it is sensitive.

The skin will never be scar free.

Same with our spirit.

Our scars remind, hopefully without the pain unless it is triggered for more healing or if we choose to touch it or re-enter the pain again

It is our choice

I think it wise to let it be, let it in God’s hands

Someday, somewhere, a person or situation will enter your path who is going through the same trauma or wound that God delivered and healed you from and you will be able to support and walk with them on their path for awhile to support them and guide them through their healing…from God..

Thank God for the opportunities he trust you with

Our purpose in life is to Support and Help others find

healing, meaning and purpose in their lives

Thank you God for all the wisdom you offered to each one of us with such a loving spiritual heart.

Accept God’s Love and Wisdom today made possible through the sacrifice and love and forgiveness avenue Jesus made possible and through the counseling and guidance of the Holy Spirit.
